A NEW ENERGY HORIZON FOR TANZANIA

Northern Tanzania | AVT Flagship 200 MW Wind Energy Power Project

AEROVOLT TANZANIA LIMITED is developing a utility-scale 200 MW wind power project in Northern Tanzania, positioned to contribute new renewable generation to a rapidly expanding electricity market while creating a platform for wider investment, infrastructure development, regional power integration and African industrial innovation.

A Strong Wind Resource Creates the Foundation

The project site demonstrates a compelling wind-resource profile, with wind speeds reported at approximately 13.4% above the reference wind speed for IEC Class II conditions. This provides a strong technical foundation for evaluating utility-scale wind generation and supports the project's feasibility pathway.

200 MW Designed for a Growing Energy Market

The flagship project targets 200 MW of installed wind capacity as AVT's first major project. Tanzania's electricity demand is expected to grow substantially over the coming decades, creating a long-term need for additional generation capacity. The 200 MW project therefore represents both an immediate development opportunity and a platform for AVT's planned expansion into additional wind projects across Tanzania.

Strategic Grid Positioning

One of the project's key advantages is its reported proximity to 33 kV / 220 kV / 400 kV transmission infrastructure and a substation, creating an important starting point for grid-interconnection studies. The location could potentially support efficient integration into Tanzania's evolving transmission network, subject to detailed technical studies and approvals.

WHY IT MATTERS

The opportunity is bigger than 200 MW. It is about establishing a credible foundation for a new generation of Tanzanian-led renewable energy infrastructure—one capable of attracting international capital, experienced technical partners and regional investment while contributing to Tanzania's long-term energy security. 200 MW today → Multiple projects tomorrow → Regional energy opportunity beyond.

Positioned for Tanzania's Emerging Regional Power Market

Tanzania's participation in the East African Power Pool (EAPP) and its broader regional interconnection strategy creates potential opportunities beyond the domestic electricity market. As regional transmission infrastructure and electricity trading mechanisms develop, utility-scale renewable projects could increasingly participate in a more interconnected East and Southern African power system.

Community-Backed Project Development

The project has progressed beyond a purely conceptual stage. During AVT's 2026 field engagement, the project team secured study-permit rights and community support for project preparation, alongside positive discussions concerning land access and potential voluntary community land contribution. This creates an important foundation for developing the project with community participation, social and environmental considerations, and local value creation integrated into the development model from an early stage.

An Investment Platform — Not Just a Wind Farm

The 200 MW project is being structured as a broader infrastructure investment platform bringing together project development, OEM/EPC capability, institutional finance, engineering, land, government engagement, local content and future technology opportunities. The immediate objective is to progress through feasibility and bankability toward a financeable project structure. Beyond the first 200 MW, AVT intends to develop additional wind projects across Tanzania, creating opportunities for long-term generation expansion, infrastructure investment, technology partnerships and regional energy participation.
